Bringing Family Members

Bringing Family

If you are a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen, you can help bring a family member to Canada by acting as their ‘sponsor'.  You have to be over 18 years of age to sponsor someone, and you have to show that you have enough money to support this person financially while they get settled.  For more information on sponsoring your family, contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). Visit their website or you can call for free from inside Canada by dialing 1-888-242-2100.

If you are already in the province you may qualify to bring members of your family to the province through the Provincial Nominee Program – Family Connections Category.
